Croatia Travel FAQ
Frequently asked questions
- 01A small-ship cruise is an island-hopping experience and one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to explore Croatia’s coastline and islands. You travel aboard a smaller, yacht-style ship, sailing from one Croatian destination to the next while your ship becomes your floating hotel.Unlike a traditional large cruise ship, these smaller vessels can dock directly in the ports of historic coastal towns and stop for swimming in secluded Adriatic coves along the way.
- 02Most small ships have just 15–19 staterooms, accommodating approximately 30–40 guests when fully booked. That smaller size is part of what makes the experience so enjoyable. You’ll begin to recognize familiar faces and may make new friends along the way, but you’re still free to enjoy the cruise, explore each destination, and spend your time however you choose.
- 03Yes. Breakfast and lunch are included each day, along with typically two Captain’s Dinners during the cruise.Dinner is generally not included—and that’s part of the experience. Since your ship spends the evening in port, you’re free to explore the local restaurants and konobas and enjoy authentic dining on the islands and in the coastal towns you visit.
- 04A swim stop is one of the most fun experiences of a small-ship island-hopping cruise. While sailing between destinations, the captain finds a beautiful secluded cove, drops anchor, and gives everyone time to jump into the Adriatic and enjoy the water.Swim, float, relax on the swim platform, or simply enjoy the view from the ship. It’s a carefree part of the day—and one of our favorite parts of small-ship cruising.
- 05An 8-day small-ship cruise typically costs around $3500 per person, with prices generally ranging from approximately $2,000–$5,000 per person, depending on the season, ship, and cabin selection. Shorter sailings are also available and are generally priced lower.Other expenses to plan for: -Dinners on the islands depend on how you like to dine, but typically cost as little as $75 to $150 per couple. -Beverages On Board: Depending on the Cruise Operator, some include wines and beverages with meals and some don't.-Excursion Tickets: Depending on the Cruise Operators, some include tickets for land excursions and some don't.That’s where we can help. We’ll help you find the small-ship cruise that best fits your interests, travel dates, and budget—and offers the most value for your vacation dollars. Note: Cruise prices are typically listed in euros, so the final cost in U.S. dollars may fluctuate depending on the exchange rate at the time of booking.
- 06We like to describe small-ship cruising as a Relaxed Luxury experience.
