Zlatni Rat is one of Croatia's most recognizable beaches—and for good reason. Beyond its unique shape stretching into the Adriatic, it offers an incredible mix of relaxation and adventure.
Spend the day parasailing, flyboarding, paddleboarding, or simply relaxing beneath one of the comfortable cabanas overlooking the sea. Beach bars, cafés, restaurants, music, and plenty of loungers make it easy to spend an entire day here without ever feeling the need to leave.
If we wanted one beach that offered the complete Croatian beach experience, this would be it.

A Quiet Cove Near Supetar, Brač
Our Favorite Hidden Beach
Sometimes the best discoveries aren't planned.
We stumbled upon this beach while exploring Brač Island and almost drove past it. There was hardly anywhere to park, no large facilities, and nowhere special to change—but none of that mattered once we stepped into the water.
The beach was peaceful, the sea was calm, and beneath our feet was something surprisingly rare along Croatia's coast—a soft sandy bottom.
It's one of those places we'll never forget precisely because we weren't looking for it.

Kaštela
Our Favorite Family Beach
When traveling with family, Kastela is the perfect beach town.
Kaštela offers everything that makes for an easy, relaxing beach day. Calm, crystal-clear water is perfect for paddleboarding, inflatable water parks keep kids entertained for hours, and nearby cafés, restaurants, and gelato shops mean everything you need is only a short walk away.
This is also where our family gathered for a beachfront villa vacation, making it a place filled with wonderful memories.
One of our favorite things? Standing in the shallow water watching schools of fish swim around your feet through water so clear you can see all the way to the bottom.

A Secluded Cove Near Mljet
Our Favorite Swim Spot
Some of our favorite swimming memories didn't happen at a beach.
They happened while small-ship cruising.
One afternoon our captain dropped anchor in a secluded cove near Mljet and invited everyone into the water.
The Adriatic was so incredibly clear that the changing shades of turquoise and deep blue seemed almost unreal.
It was one of those moments where time simply stood still.

Korčula
Our Favorite Sunset Beach
Some beaches are best experienced at the end of the day.
Korčula's west-facing shoreline gave us one of the most unforgettable sunsets we've ever watched over the Adriatic.
As the sky turned shades of orange, pink, and gold, the sea reflected every color while the Old Town slowly glowed in the evening light.
It's a beach we'd return to again and again for the sunset alone.

Banje Beach — Dubrovnik
Our Most Memorable Beach Day
Ironically, our most memorable beach day wasn't really a beach day at all.
It was a cool day in May.
We were bundled up in sweatshirts and hiking boots—not swimsuits.
But standing on Banje Beach and seeing the Adriatic Sea for the very first time is a moment we'll never forget.
Sometimes it's not the weather that makes a place memorable.
It's the feeling of finally arriving somewhere you've dreamed about experiencing.
